Mohamed S. Siddique, MD, FACP

Mohamed Siddique, MD, FACP is Board Certified in Internal Medicine.  As the recipient of the Laureate award from American College of Physicians and a Lifetime Achievement award recipient from American College of Physicians, he is highly regarded as a physician, educator, leader, administrator, and a mentor. In addition to being a clinician and teacher he has extensive experience in healthcare reform, healthcare disparity and high value care. Dr. Siddique has been the Program Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Sinai-Grace for 31 years.  He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Wayne State University School of Medicine (WSU).  

Kenneth L. Bergsman, MD, FACP

Kenneth L. Bergsman, MD is a Professor of Medicine at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Bergsman also has subspecialties in both Hematology and Oncology. He serves as Chairman of the Credential Committee at DMC/Sinai-Grace Hospital and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and Detroit Academy of Medicine. 

Hicham Krayem, MD, MBA, FCCP

Hicham Krayem, MD serves as Chief of Medicine as Sinai-Grace Hospital. He is a graduate of the American University of Beirut and completed his MBA degree at the University of Massachusetts. He has been a teaching faculty for more than 15 years and has served in many leadership positions and committees at Sinai-Grace hospital. He is a clinical associate professor at Wayne State University and a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr Krayem is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical care, and Sleep medicine.

Ahmed Jamal Chaudhary, MD, FACP

Ahmed Jamal Chaudhary MD, FACP is a board-certified Internal Medicine Physician who serves as Program director for Transitional Medicine Residency Program. He also holds the rank of Associate Professor of Medicine with Michigan State University School of Osteopathic Medicine. A graduate of Lahore Medical and Dental College, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency training from DMC/Sinai Grace Hospital, Wayne State University in 2015 and later started practicing as a faculty Hospitalist for the Department of Medicine at Unity Point Health, Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa. He moved back to DMC/ Sinai Grace Hospital, Wayne State University as core Internal Medicine faculty in 2019.

Dr. Chaudhary oversees all didactic activities for the program, notably he conducts the Internal Medicine Board review, Monthly exams and End of year exam for categorical residents. He also coaches the Sinai Grace ACP Doctor’s Dilemma team. 

Marc Feldman, MD, FACP

Marc Feldman, MD, is a board-certified Internist. A graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine, Dr. Feldman has taught at WSU for more than 20 years. Today he serves as Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine training program and Clinical Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University.

 

Malitha Hettiarachchi, MD

Malitha Hettiarachchi, MD, is a Board-Certified Internist who serves as Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine residency program at DMC/Sinai-Grace Hospital. She completed her medical education at University of Colombo Sri Lanka and a residency at WSU/DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, where she served as a Chief Medical Resident. She serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor both at WSU School of Medicine and MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Hettiarachchi functions as the Interim Director of the Research Division.

Abu Fazal Shaik Mohammed, MD

Abu Fazal Shaik Mohammed, MD, is a Board-Certified Internist. After graduating from Sinai-Grace hospital/Wayne State University, he joined as a full time faculty in the department of medicine. He is active in GME , resident education and held many positions including being Program Director. He currently serves as the associate program director for Transitional Medicine program. Dr. Shaik Mohammed also chairs the clinical competency committee and oversees program social activities.

Abhimani Wickrama, MD

Dr. Abhimani Wickrama, MD is a Board-Certified Internist. She attained her medical education at the University of Sri Jayawardenepura in Sri Lanka, followed by residency training in Internal Medicine at Sinai Grace/Wayne State University. Currently she holds a distinguished role as faculty within the Department of Medicine, where she meticulously oversees the PERKS program and delivers comprehensive ambulatory module lectures. 

Dr. Hassan Cheema, MD

Dr. Hassan Cheema, MD, is an Internist. He attained his medical education at the Services Institute of Medical Sciences located in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan , followed by residency training in Internal Medicine at Sinai Grace/Wayne State University.  He also served as a Chief Medical Resident in Internal Medicine at Sinai Grace/Wayne State University.  Currently he holds a distinguished role as faculty within the Department of Medicine, where he oversees the Cardiology rotation at Sinai Grace and delivers comprehensive lectures. 

 

John R. Haapaniemi, DO, FCCP

John R. Haapaniemi, DO, is the President of Medical Staff at the Detroit Medical Center. A graduate of Michigan State University, Dr. Haapaniemi is a Professor of Medicine at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. Dr. Haapaniemi is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine.

Wasif Hafeez, MD

Wasif Hafeez, MD, serves as Chief of Infectious Disease at DMC/Sinai-Grace Hospital.  His research focuses on improving HIV/AIDS care in the Northwest Detroit region through a grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration. 

 

Irfan Omar, MD, MRCP

Irfan Omar, MD, is the Chief of Nephrology and Director of Inpatient Dialysis and the Immunology laboratory at DMC/Sinai-Grace Hospital.  He is also Director of the Northwest Lahser Dialysis Unit in Southfield. A Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University, he is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology.  

Hassan M.A. Makki, MD, FCCP

Hassan Makki, MD, is the Medical Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at DMC/Sinai-Grace Hospital. He also serves as a staff physician in the Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. A graduate of Wayne State University School of Medicine, he is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care Medicine and Sleep Medicine. 

Osama Hadid, MD

Osama Hadid, MD, is board certified in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine.  He completed his Internal Medicine Residency training and served as Chief Medical Resident at DMC/Sinai-Grace Hospital.  He further went on to complete his Critical Care Medicine fellowship training at DMC/Wayne State University.  He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Michigan State University, and currently serves as the Head of the Code Blue Committee.

Sulaiman Alhassan, MD, FCCP

Sulaiman Alhassan, MD, FCCP, is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine residency training and served as a Chief Medical Resident at DMC/Sinai-Grace Hospital. He further went on to complete his Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship training and served as a Chief Fellow at Allegheny General Hospital in Pennsylvania. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University and Michigan State University.  He currently serves as Medical Director of the Respiratory Therapy department at DMC/Sinai-Grace Hospital.  

Dr. Kamal Khalil, MD, MBA

Kamal Khalil, MD, MBA, is the Research Director at DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital, bringing over 15 years of experience in healthcare and research. His areas of expertise include clinical trial programming, clinical development, and community health, with a particular focus on social determinants of health. Dr. Khalil is dedicated to advancing healthcare practices and improving health outcomes through innovative research and a deep understanding of the broader factors impacting patient well-being.
